Christmas this year was a bit of a different experience. With the kitchen under renovation, we decided to keep things low-key (and didn’t even put up a tree). On Christmas morning, we unwrapped presents downstairs then settled in for a movie marathon and some Xbox time.
To break up the time off, we treated ourselves to a resort pass day at the Grand Hyatt as an ‘us’ gift. It was a welcome escape from the construction chaos and a chance to enjoy some luxurious amenities.
For New Year’s Eve, we opted for a cozy night in. We caught up on some TV and every hour, we stepped outside for a quick sparkler show. As midnight approached, the neighborhood came alive with the usual display of fireworks as we all celebrated the start of the new year.
Overall, it was a relaxing and enjoyable holiday season. We embraced the unexpected changes and found creative ways to celebrate.
